How to use Metahuman in Unreal Engine 5.6

First of all: Epic Games' Metahuman is a revolutionary product for creating highly detailed, realistic characters that integrates with the Unreal Engine.
In this article, I'll show you how to create and use Metahuman for your projects in Unreal Engine 5.6.
How to enable Metahuman in Unreal Engine 5.6
- In Version 5.6, to create Metahuman, you no longer need to go to a separate website, just activate individual plugins in the engine.
Go to edit plugins, enter Metahuman in the search, turn on all plugins related to Metahuman except Metahuman runtime (there is currently a bug with Metahuman runtime), then you will be asked to restart the program, which we are doing!
- After restarting in the context menu (right mouse click) you will see a section: Metahuman → Metahuman Character
In the Metahuman editor in Unreal Engine 5.6, it is proposed to create a character from scratch, or choose from the suggested assets that can be fully customized, please note! until you click create a frame, the character will not animate in the editor. After you have set up the character and are satisfied with the result, you need to click (download textures/Download texture source), but if you have selected a ready-made asset, standard textures will already be applied to it.
When the character is ready: Click Create Full Rig, then → go to → Assemble → wait a few minutes for the build, as everything is loaded from the old Epic Games website → after the build, the character will be ready, a blueprint actor will appear in the Metahuman folder.
Why is my Metahuman completely black in UE 5.6?
- At the time of writing, there is a bug in the Metahuman editor in UE 5.6. If you have a language different from English in the editor during assembly, the character may turn black, and the bug may also be related to the enabled Metahuman runtime plugin. To fix the error with black textures, you need to turn off the Metahuman plugin. runtime, and switch the editor to English, then rebuild the character (the old one must be deleted.)
